Retraction, Withdrawal, Correction and Replacement Policy

International Scientific Journal Vision is committed to preserving the integrity, reliability, and permanence of the scholarly record. The Journal follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and internationally accepted standards of scholarly publishing. Decisions regarding article withdrawal, correction, retraction, removal, or replacement are made solely by the Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the Editorial Board where appropriate.

Published articles constitute part of the permanent scholarly record and, therefore, shall not be altered, withdrawn, or removed except under exceptional circumstances.

Article Withdrawal (Before Publication)

Article withdrawal applies only to manuscripts that have been submitted but have not yet been formally published.

A manuscript may be withdrawn in the following circumstances:

  • duplicate submission to another journal;
  • serious errors identified before publication;
  • plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or other publication ethics violations;
  • fabricated, falsified, or unreliable data;
  • authorship disputes;
  • accidental duplicate submission.

A withdrawal request may be initiated by the author(s), the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, or the author's institution. The Editor-in-Chief may request a written explanation before making a final decision.

Article Correction (Erratum / Corrigendum)

Where a published article contains minor errors that do not affect the validity, reliability, interpretation, or conclusions of the research, the Journal will issue a formal correction instead of retracting the article.

Corrections include, but are not limited to:

  • typographical or formatting errors;
  • errors in article title;
  • mistakes in tables, figures, or references;
  • incorrect author information;
  • production or editorial errors;
  • minor author errors that do not alter the scientific conclusions.

Two forms of correction may be issued:

  • Publisher Correction (Erratum): for errors introduced during editorial or production processes.
  • Author Correction (Corrigendum): for errors originating from the authors.

Correction notices will be permanently linked to the original article to ensure transparency.

Article Retraction (After Publication)

Retraction applies only to articles that have already been published.

A published article may be retracted where it contains serious ethical, legal, or academic deficiencies, including but not limited to:

  • plagiarism or self-plagiarism;
  • duplicate or redundant publication;
  • fabricated, falsified, or unreliable data;
  • major errors rendering the findings or conclusions unreliable;
  • fraudulent authorship or authorship manipulation;
  • copyright infringement;
  • serious violations of research or publication ethics.

Retraction may be initiated by the Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board, author(s), author's institution, or other relevant parties.

Where a retraction is approved:

  • a formal Retraction Notice will be published;
  • the original article will normally remain accessible as part of the scholarly record;
  • the PDF and article page may be clearly marked as Retracted.

Retraction serves to correct the scholarly record and does not imply misconduct unless explicitly stated.

Article Replacement

In exceptional circumstances, where an incorrect version of a manuscript has been published due to an editorial or production error, or where substantial corrections are necessary while the scientific validity of the work remains unaffected, the Editor-in-Chief may approve publication of a corrected replacement version.

In such cases:

  • the replacement will be clearly identified;
  • the publication history will remain transparent;
  • readers will be informed through a formal Editorial Notice;
  • the DOI and citation record will normally be preserved whenever possible.

Replacement shall not be used to conceal research misconduct or publication ethics violations.

Article Removal

Removal of a published article will occur only under exceptional legal circumstances, including:

  • defamation;
  • infringement of legal rights;
  • copyright infringement;
  • court orders;
  • unlawful content;
  • content posing a serious legal or public safety risk.

Where removal is necessary, the article metadata will remain available while the full text will be replaced by a removal notice explaining the reason.

Final Decision

The final decision regarding withdrawal, correction, replacement, retraction, or removal rests exclusively with the Editor-in-Chief, who may consult the Editorial Board and external experts where appropriate.

All decisions are made in accordance with:

  • the Journal's Editorial Policies;
  • the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE);
  • internationally accepted standards of scholarly publishing;
  • applicable legal and ethical requirements.

The Journal's primary objective is to preserve the integrity, transparency, and permanence of the scholarly record while ensuring fairness to authors, readers, reviewers, and the wider academic community.
