AI Usage Policy
AI Usage Policy
Sui Generis permits the limited and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in manuscript preparation, provided that such use does not replace the author’s original legal analysis, argumentation, or scholarly contribution.
AI tools may be used for limited purposes such as:
- language editing and proofreading;
- improving clarity and readability;
- organizing references or research materials;
- supporting data presentation or visualization.
AI tools must not be used to:
- generate the main legal arguments, research questions, or original conclusions;
- write the entire manuscript or substantial parts of it;
- fabricate data, case law, legislation, references, or citations;
- create misleading or false academic content;
- process confidential, personal, or sensitive legal data.
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, legality, and ethical compliance of their submissions. AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors under any circumstances.
Any use of AI must be disclosed in the manuscript under an “AI Usage Statement”, indicating the tool used, the purpose of use, and the relevant sections affected.
Reviewers and editors must not upload manuscripts, confidential materials, or unpublished data to AI systems. Editorial and peer-review decisions must always be based on human judgment.
Misuse of AI may result in rejection of the manuscript, withdrawal, retraction, or other editorial measures.
